This might be fun:

http://www.indierecords.com/anvcontest/

Ghostdog, our irc channel bot, does a stupid little trick. When we type
@anv, he spits out a sentence generated by combining an adjective, a
noun, and a verb, each randomly selected from a file. The folks in our
circle continously expand these files (and subsequently Ghostdog's
vocabulary) by submitting new adjectives, nouns, and verbs through a PHP
form. The resulting sentences are sometimes rude, sometimes
non-sequitur, sometimes true, sometimes all of the above.

In most cases, they conjure up bizarre visual imagery, so we're
launching a weekly (? for now ?) ART CONTEST.

The rules for now: Each Sunday evening at 7:00 EST we will gather
'round ye olde channel bot and hold the official "draw", in which we ask
Ghostdog for the @anv sentence of the week. If it *really* sucks,
everyone in the channel will have a chance to say, no, that really
sucks, and we'll give it another go. We shouldn't vote it down for
being too outrageous or weird -- only for being too vague, bland, or
impossible to interpret. The official @anv sentence will then be posted
on http://www.indierecords.com/anvcontest/ .

Any time between then and the following Friday, upload your submission
to the contest at http://www.indierecords.com/anvcontest/submit.shtml.
Your entry can be just about anything -- we were originally thinking
drawings and/or computer generated images, but we will accept text
pieces and audio mp3s too -- so long as it's your interpretation of the
@anv sentence of the week, the file is less than 2MB, and there is no
obviously illegal content.

There are no quality guidelines -- spend hours on it, or spend five
minutes on it. Even if it's cheezy and half-assed, you still might win
with a sympathy vote!

Once the deadline arrives, the contestants have 24 hours to vote on each
other's work (again, just follow the links on the site to do so).

PRIZES!!! PRIZES!!! PRIZES!!!

The grand prize is that you get to have your piece at the top of the
contest page for that week! *WOW!* The second prize is that you get to
have your piece JUST BENEATH the grand prize winner's piece on that same
page! *WOW AGAIN!* And uh . . . so on. All qualifying entries will
appear on the page; if you don't want to be associated with your work,
be sure to put something in the "pseudonym" field.

Note: the rules, deadline dates, and even regularity of the contest are
subject to drastic change as per suggestions of anyone who participates.

That's all! Have fun and good luck!

-Keith
