Good morning, all,

Does anyone know what the impetus was for making changes now?

Thank you,

Jeanine

I think your suggestion is right on. As a walker and horseback rider I think
designated trails would be a huge benefit to all.

We have lived in many areas and I ride horses, bike, used to run and now walk.
We moved to this area in part for its extensive conservation and trails. I can
relate to everyone’s concerns, as a walker having bikers come upon you
suddenly, without warning can be startling and equally if a horse is moving
fast. It is also frightening to horses to have bikes or runners come quickly
toward or from the back. Also erosion is an issue, horses and bikes rut trails
and water pools in spring/fall, so all of the concerns are equally valid.
Perhaps there should be different dedicated trails for the different sports.
Walking on all, all on some, horses on some specific ones, and bikers on others
so we all know what to expect. We lived in CA near a county park that had
walking and horse trails and some just didn’t allow horses, it worked out
really well. The important part is to have contiguous trails that don’t dead
end for one sport or another. Although it may sound logistically difficult it
could prevent a lot of anguish, as unfortunately not everyone is respectful, so
why not take that into account when deciding? I’ll be happy to help if needed.
Ehren
