Books left in the bins at the 117 gas station, Donelan's, Tracey's, and soon the transfer station, result in payments to the Friends of the Lincoln Library to help fund all the programs, museum passes, and furnishings we provide for the library. We earned $1400 for the first three quarters of the fiscal year and have not yet received payment for the fourth quarter which ended yesterday.
Members of the Friends review books at the transfer station and retrieve books that are in excellent condition and not more than 5 or so years ago. These books are sold at the carts in the library. Donating books to the bins are a big help to the Friends of the Lincoln Library in our fundraising efforts.
