My daughter, her husband and 4 month baby arrived on July 5th and went home on July 11th. Because they were traveling with an infant and had all the associated luggage, we decided to just drive to Logan and pick them up. They arrived at 4pm and it couldn't have been easier. There was no traffic back-up. It took 30 minutes fron Lincoln to Logan. The same was true on the departure. We left Lincoln around 12:30 pm and it took about 30 minutes to get to the airport. I felt the reports were so overblown. Good luck.
