The Water Department Drought Management Plan provides guidance on appropriate
water restrictions for outdoor water use as needed. These restrictions apply to
non-essential outdoor watering by residential and commercial customers.
Agricultural water use is considered essential. Customers who are farmers as
defined in the Lincoln Right to Farm Bylaw are therefore exempt from these
restrictions.

Effective May 1st, 2024: Mandatory Stage 1 outdoor watering restrictions

Lincoln was in compliance with the 65 RGPCD for FY2023. The Lincoln Water
Department is required, based on Mass DEP Water Withdrawal Permit
#9P4-3-20-157.01, to enforce seasonal limits on non-essential outdoor watering
from May 1st through September 30th as per 310 CMR 36.07.
