A Thought for Lincoln Gardeners, Unlike deciduous trees, evergreen shrubs and trees don't go dormant in winter. Evergreen shrubs and trees can and will photosynthesize all winter., which means bursts of welcome growth.
Evergreens shaded by deciduous trees in summer put the winter sun to good use -- if they are hydrated. But after three months of drought, they are parched. Gray water from our sinks is a simple way to give them a good drink now that our hoses are coiled and stored. Carrying buckets into the garden:) Kathleen
