Codman Farm Before Time: Kids Archaeology Dig Sunday, May 18th 3:30pm - 4:30pm
*A few spots left - register below -* https://codmanfarm.org/classes-events/2025/4/15/8evva847awnqkuzltz9qtj4osi705w Children will learn about what archaeologists do, look at some evidence that helps them understand history, and take part in a real excavation the way real archaeologists do it! Jobs and roles will be taught and assigned on a rotating basis so that children have an opportunity to take part in different aspects of an excavation. Roles include mappers, surveyors, excavators, sifters, measurers, artifact drawers/artists, and cleaners. We will be on the ground, getting dirty, sifting through dirt, and making some unforgettable discoveries. We won't be digging in a box - we will be excavating on the property of the historic Codman Farm! Class taught by Jeff Kotkin, an accomplished educator (MA Elementary License, grades 1-6) with over 25 years of experience working with students of diverse strengths and backgrounds. He has a Master’s Degree in Historical Archaeology with an education focus. Program length is 60 minutes, $35 per child, best for children in Grades 2nd through 4th ****** Abigail Adams Education, Community Engagement and Marketing Manager Codman Community Farms www.codmanfarm.org
