Morning Sarah,
We’ve had success by leaving the hood up. And spreading (packaged) peppermints & bounce (dryer) sheets in glove compartments, seat backs & door cubbies.  Good Luck😉,

After finding a huge nest, partly constructed with the hood insulation, under the hood of a car that was in the garage unused for a couple of months one winter and later paying for an expensive replacement of a chewed up wiring harness in the same car after it went back to staying outdoors, we started periodically spraying a peppermint oil solution under the hoods of our cars.  I don't recall the ratio of peppermint oil to water - some instructions we found on the Internet.  We frequently check under the hoods to be sure no nests are building up.  We also took down bird feeders that were attracting rodents to the spillage.  After a couple of years of vigilance, so far so good.  But it might be just coincidence.  When we were searching for things to do, we found a lot of people swearing by peppermint oil and also many saying it's useless.  The same with ultrasonic devices.  So who knows.

Hi neighbors- if anyone has any successful strategies to keep rodents from destroying parts of your car, would love to hear what's worked for you. Something just ate our cars blower motor and it's not a cheap repair so would like to take some preventative measures going forward.

Thanks,
Shira
