Dear Fellow Residents
The Planning Board voted unanimously to endorse the proposed Nature Link
project at their June 10th,2025, meeting. As elected members of a Board that
represents all Lincoln residents, we have taken the responsibility toread
extensively about and listen carefully to presentations about this project,
including questions andcomments from many abutters and residents. Planning
Board support is rooted not only in what thisproject proposes to build, but
also in what it seeks to preserve, and the values it reflects. After reviewing
all that we learned, we have concluded that Lincoln will benefit considerably
from thisunique partnership among the Farrington board, the City of Cambridge,
the Panetta family and CivicoDevelopment. The Town of Lincoln will gain
permanent protection of land long noted for its conservationvalue, the
continuation in Lincoln of a unique nature program for urban youth, and a
creative singlefamily housing village of mostly small homes that is aligned
with Lincoln’s long-term planning vision. If the Preliminary Development and
Use Plan for this project is approved at Town Meeting, the developerwill be
required to submit a Definitive Plan, apply for a special permit and go through
site plan review bythe Planning Board. As a key element of this next stage of
review and permitting, the Planning Board willwork with the developer, Lincoln
residents and other Town boards in an open process involving publichearings, to
address all viewpoints, with a goal of arriving at a permitted project which is
in the bestinterest of the Town and is as responsive to resident comments as
possible. Lynn E DeLisi (Co-Chair) Gary Taylor (Co-Chair) Robert Ahlert Susan
