Happy (still) Summer on behalf of our family AND Brain Games! We are so grateful for your continuous support of our family's efforts to further Moyamoya research. This past year's research has made incredible leaps thanks to your generosity. In January, Brain Games was honored at a Boston Children's Hospital Fundraising Award Ceremony with the award for "Outstanding Philanthropist". Ed Smith, Kalea's surgeon, has met with us again to go over exactly where our fundraising has gone and the impact it has made. Brain Games has been cited as part of the team's published work in recent medical journals. Many of you take the time each year to support a number of charities and non-profit work, so considering our efforts means the world to us. In the realm of rare diseases, moyamoya does not receive funding for research, and there's many aspects of treatment that grants cannot cover. Our annual fundraising is able to allow the team to make strides in areas that don't typically have funding. Most recently, our fundraising has helped put into place a worldwide team of experts who are working together to change the diagnosis and treatment of the disease. This is huge! Please know that by showing up to Brain Games, playing cornhole, and inviting others to come as well, you are making a HUGE difference in so many lives!
