Hi Whit... Looks nice. One thing I'm a little iffy about in your code is that I understand setPixel and getPixel to be slow, so I usually avoid them. When you do a repeat within a repeat of each pixel going across each row, and then down, I'd think that would be slow on some machines, and the updatestage calls slow things down to. You could avoid that by running the process on exitframe.
I was trying to use inks because they're simple and can be done in just a few steps. For instance, you can get a cool emboss effect by putting the same picture on top of itself, then offset it one or two pixels, and the top is addpin and the bottom is subtract pin.
