The XML Parser Xtra supports the UTF-8 and UTF-16 encodings of the Unicode character set. It also supports ISO-8859-1 (Latin 1), US-ASCII, and EUC-JP and SHIFT-JIS (for Japan). It also supports an encoding named "x-director-lingo" I think. But I can't locate the documentatioin for that right now, or I'd point you to it.
