Good point. It seems to me the min spec to start with would be the
recommended systems Macromedia specifies for playback.
I don't think it's especially healthy to try to establish *one*
baseline spec for all possible productions (if that's what you have
been asked to do) simply on the grounds that not all productions are
identical.
If you just want to put together a "stock ticker" you could prolly
get away with doing it in 7 or even 6.5 (and with 6.5 you can include
non-PPC Mac and Win3.1), but if you want to create Final Fantasy MX
you're going to need something with a lot more testes than a 486
DX/100 and 32 Mb RAM running Win95 with a 2-Mb video card.
Don't try to write to the minimum spec as a default way of working
unless you're marketing to US public schools. If your boss is not
bright enough to understand that, consider updating your resume and
looking for work elsewhere before you end up *totally* miserable.
