Sorry, but that's just not true. Director supports the full printable ANSI character set, including those above 127. Otherwise, French, German, Spanish, and yes, Portuguese would be impossible in Director. Actually, it's true that Director doesn't support ASCII characters above 127, because there are no ASCII characters above 127. ASCII is a 7-bit standard. Windows uses ANSI, which is identical to ISO 8859.1 (Latin 1).
