I used Buddy to return the path of Acrobat Reader on the user's machine (if
present) and opened a PDF with it. I tried different permutations of the
path, and every time it would open Reader, but it couldn't find the PDF.
The only things that worked were if I had the PDF next to the projector and
didn't use a pathname at all, or if I hardcoded the pathname with the name
of the CD-ROM. I had my working files in a folder on the desktop.

Wht sort of trouble? I've never had a problem with relative paths on
either platform, and I surely would have noticed by now if there were
problems, since I've got a pretty hefty app that relies on them to a
great degree.
