Subject: QT6Asset.x32

Does anyone know if the QT6Asset.x32 only works within DirectorMX or can it
be used for previous Director versions.

I have a project running in D7.02 and we are trying to use a new video
format that requires QuickTime6 so I need to update the QT3Asset.x32 but I
don't know if the QT6 can work in anything earlier than DirMX and even if it
could where I can get a distributable copy without having to buy MX.

Any direction would be appreciated.
Dave,
1. The QT Asset Xtra from MX can't be used with previous versions (such as d7).
2. The QT Asset in the older version may just give you what you need.

The QT Asset Xtra (any version) just allows Director to use whichever QT is installed within a system. Often when the system's QT gets upgraded, an older version of Director will automatically get to use the capabilities of the newly installed QT.
