OK to go from 8.0 to MX?

All - I hope that this question hasn't already been answered several 
times but I'm a new to the list.

I'm getting ready to "go prime time" with a Director app written in 8.0 
- does anyone see a reason why I shouldn't create the projector using 
MX? Would your answer hold true for both Mac and PC?
