Hi List,
I am starting off on a project where the client is coverting books into pdf
and supplying to us. I need to provide extensive search capabilities. There
are approx. 7,00,000 pages.
Sorry to ask such a simple question, but why don't you use the Very Extensive text searching facilities "built into" Acrobat?
Acrobat can do full text searching over single files or large indexs of files.
To convert the PDF to Director or XML would be a complete waste of time.
Download a demo copy of Acrobat ( not the reader but the full version) and take a look at it's capabilities.
