I took Irv's suggestion, which is what I was sort of doing anyway. I
didn't have to access the script button.  Maybe that's another feature
that Thomas Higgins can take note of for um... Microsoft Director MX
2012.  <Kidding.>

I used puts and alerts throughout debugging the MIAW code and it worked.
Incidentally, I also used the debugPlaybackEnabled = TRUE in the
projector and I was able to access various properties that I needed to
see what the values were, by saying:

tell (window "xyz") to put sprite(5).scriptInstanceList[1].pProperty

That worked in both projector and authoring mode.  I just had to nerdily
"imagine" the property values while I was debugging.  It was a brutal
script I just wrote, and hopefully I won't have to do any MIAW
communication stuff anytime soon.
