I think you're limited to the amount of RAM that Director has available (and disk space), actually. I mean, if you have the entire text of _Moby-Dick_ in memory and do a writeString on it, you can probably expect it to be written in full.


The same, I believe, is true for readString. (Or maybe I'm thinking of readFile...)
