In most cases your server will determine the bandwidth the user is at and
stream the appropriate video. Don't know much about your streaming server
but usually you would post a reference video. This video would reference
the appropriate playback video for the user's connection.

Subject: <lingo-l> streaming quicktime

hi,

i am having difficulty with streaming quicktime into director. i'm
talking about rtsp streaming, not the pseudo-streaming of downloading
movies. anyway the stream comes in ok, but the video always has a size
of 160x120 even when the size of the stream is larger. anyone know what
i'm doing wrong?

if you'd like to try a test stream:
http://stream.qtv.apple.com/events/oct/itunes/windows_ref.mov

it plays fine in the QT player at 256x192 but no so in director.

btw i'm using:
dir MX
OS X.3.2
QT 6.5

any help or pointers much appreciated.

matt
