I've seen plenty of unwanted selection stuff. I've used workarounds that include toggling the editable, and off-screen text entry fields.
I don't have any good explanation as to why it happens though. My assumption was that at some point in those processes, the window momentarily loses focus (of some kind) to a background task (printing. etc.), and when it returns... it selects all the text in the first editable text sprite it encounters... probably for... well, some reason. (?)
