I came up with a solution, similar to what you said here.  Thanks for your

Again, if you want to physically empty the channel, you can use clearFrame
during a score recording session.  My personal approach would be, when the
user clicks the 'clear page' button, to do something like:

shove the sprite offstage
scale it back to its original size
import the next member & scale it appropriately
move it back onscreen
