Yes. I'm still using D7.02 and have never installed D8. This is what I get
in the message window while viewing a shocked page:
put version
-- "8.0 net"
put the environment
-- [#shockMachine: 0, #shockMachineVersion: "", #platform: "Windows,32",
#runMode: "Plugin", #colorDepth: 24, #internetConnected: #online,
#uiLanguage: "English", #osLanguage: "English", #productBuildVersion: "196"]
This was true even when testing my own shocked files, which of course were
created with D7.
