Two ways, at least:

1. Get a recent copy of DropStuff. On your Mac, you can make a 
self-extracting .EXE file for him to use.

2. Post the .DIR file without compressing it at all. He can then open 
the URL of the file from inside Director, and then do a save as to 
get a local copy.
