The shockwave movie needs to be feed with data from a SQL Server database,
so get/setprefs isn't an option for this project. I'm looking for a more
robust and dynamic solution. I'm sure I read something about someone using
the Multiuser Server to get around the browser/platform issue...

Once again, why don't you just use get/setprefs and have both shocks look
to that when needed?
