Check out baPrevious(). There's even an example in the help file that shows 
how to activate the previous instance of the projector and quit this instance.

I've been using both the projector.ini:

[Settings]
SingleInstance=1

And a similar setting in the FastSplash.ini

OnlyOneInstance.ini

FastSplash is a tiny executable file that displays a .bmp image very 
quickly while starting up your projector. It's beerware & available at:
