Hello,
I'm Ruth Ameel, a Belgian student, and I'm now in my senior year Multimedia
and Communication Technology.
Every last year student in my school has to make a thesis, and mine envolves
a cd-rom in Director (version 7), that presents another education at my
school. I hope you can understand that this thesis is very important to me
and to my school.
A part of this cd-rom is a QTVR. This QTVR shows an exhibition of products
that students of this education made. The purpose of the QTVR is that the
user can walk through the whole exhibition. Also, when he clicks on a
product, he gets a MIAW that shows more information about that product. The
QTVR has 32 nodes and 35 clickable products.
Importing the QTVR wasn't very difficult. After that, I wrote a piece of
code to get the hotspotID's in an alertbox. I need those hotspotID's to let
the program know by wich hotspotID's he has to show a MIAW, and by wich not.
Now I found out that those hotspotID's aren't unique. This causes a problem
wich even my professors in school cannot solve: When walking through the
exhibition, going from one node to another, the program sometimes shows a
MIAW. That is because the hotspotID of that node is then identical to a
hotspotID of a product. I hope you agree that this is unacceptable.
My question now is, if there is a way of changing those hotspotID's to a
unique name, or if there is another way of solving this problem.
