Hi Dominic.

Director apps are not really suited for use as background tasks.

Basically Director always tries to use every clockcycle available, to be
better able to respond to events.

Question time: are you running your app with "animate in background" on or
off?

If it's on, try if setting it to off will alleviate your problem.
