Interestingly, I tried for the first time today to use 1832 to override
a CallerID block on my VoIP connection.
It's supposed to work, according to various sources.
If I waited 6 seconds, I got a change in dial-tone.
But after I dialled the intended number, a (20-second?) silence was
followed by the dreaded Americanism
'We couldn't connect your call at this time'.
I'm unclear whether the recipient received notice and declined (or
failed to pick up within the available time), it's a malfunctioning
service, or a defunct or non-service.
(And asking iiNet would be an utter waste of time).
