It would use less energy than a courier truck. The question question is whether the truck can combine enough deliveries to overcome it's bigger energy usage and cost. Courier trucks do have other advantages like all-weather operation, security, conventionality, etc. Drones don't need a full time driver and don't have to carry the driver.
