Hi!

If you reviewed the most-recent 3 or 4 messages on the list you would note I am 
attempting the exact same thing—building the git binary.

If you can help with this, your help would be sincerely appreciated..  I have 
detailed the challenges I am attempting to work through in hopes of getting 
help, here or via issues ingit.

Additinoally, I hope you do not mind me adding; if you attempt to build the git 
binary please read the full README and then go through the docker folder 
pre-reqs the README indicates.

Buidling the dev environment is easy compared to the pre-reqs.

I was going to post a howto but, again, got stuck and requested herlp here and 
in the issues.

I will keep an eye out for you.  Good luck!
