Solved! I now have the 5.2.6 AppImage successfully running on my Fedora 40
desktop (soon to be Fedora 42 as 40 is nearing EOL).

I have tested and verified this on Fedora 40, 41, 42.

It appears the culprit was the method of disabling IPv6. I ended-up writing a
howto because the "net" is full of inaccurate information about disabling IPv6.
Here's my howto (provided as associated information):
https://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?334435-Howto-disable-IPv6

If IPv6 is disabled via the kernel CMDLINE, Linphone will not work and all IP
communications (specific to Linphone) fail.

Using other methods of disabling IPv6 will allow Linphone (client and AppImage)
to communicate, successfully.

I have updated the linphone-desktop issue:
https://github.com/BelledonneCommunications/linphone-desktop/issues/890

I'm going to attempt to find the bugged portion of code—but I am not an expert
or familiar with the architecture so I'll be guessing at where to search. If I
get lucky, I'll provide more detail and maybe even updated code!
