Jeff,

No, that wouldn't be your problem. Try to do an "ls" on that complete path
and file name. If it does find it, I can't tell you what would be wrong.
If it doesn't find it, start "backing off" one node at a time, e.g., try
ls /mnt/var/tmp/57.9.45.74/home/c069868/susesles7/suse/images/
next to see what is in that directory, etc.

Thanks for your response.
Here is what I tried. I get to the point where the error is taken in the
'update an existing system' process, then telnet in again from another
window and enter this command:

LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/mnt/lib rpm -U --force --nodeps --root
/mnt/var/tmp/57.9.45.74/home/c069868/susesles7/suse/images/k_deflt.rpm

The response is:
rpm: no packages given for install

Did I enter it wrong? It's an awfully long command and it wraps around in
my window to a second line. Perhaps that's the problem?

Jeff

Try running it manually, but instead of just executing 'rpm -U <etc...>',
try 'LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/mnt/lib rpm -U <etc...>'. Maybe the initrd file is
corrupted, and /bin/sh doesn't work well with libc.so on this image, so just

try to use the libc from glibc 2.2 which is mounted on /mnt.
Hope this helps.
Yuval.
