I've downloaded, patched und compiled kernel 2.4.17 succesfully. Now when i try to install the new kernel i get the following error message: [root@aquarius root]# zilo Testlevel is set to 0 IPL device is: '/dev/dasda'...ok...(94/0) bootsector is: '/boot/ipleckd.boot'...ok... bootmap is set to: '/usr/src/linux/System.map'...ok... Kernel image is: '/boot/vmlinux-2.4.17'...ok... original parameterfile is: '/etc/parmfile'tempfile is /boot/param.2.4.17 ...ok...final parameterfile is: '/boot/param.2.4.17'...ok... zilo.c (line:473) 'ioctl (devfd, BIODASDRWTB, &blk)' returned 25='Inappropriate ioctl for device' Can someone shade some light on this ? I can post the according /etc/zilo.conf as well as /etc/parmfile. kind regards Guenther -- Guenther Bergmann, Am Kreuzacker 10, 63150 Heusenstamm, Germany [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.gbergmann.de
