Tim,

You didn't specify, but if this is a 2.4 system, you have to use zipl, not
zilo.

Subject: ZILO crashes

Hi,

next problem. I wanted to add some devices to the system. First of all I
added the devices to the parmfile.
Then I tried to run zilo...

osa-rzl1:/boot # zilo -F /etc/zilo.conf -d /dev/dasdb
o->conffile set to /etc/zilo.conf
o->ipldevice set to /dev/dasdb
Testlevel is set to -2
IPL device is: '/dev/dasdb'
bootsector is: '/boot/zilo-kernel/ipleckd.boot'...ok...
bootmap is set to: '/boot/zilo-kernel/boot.map'...ok...
Kernel image is: '/boot/zilo-kernel/image'...ok...
WARNING: Couldn't get version of kernel image, using generated name
'/boot/paramufp05n`
original parameterfile is: '/boot/parmfile'tempfile is /boot/paramufp05n
...ok...final parameterfile is: '/boot/paramufp05n'...ok...
zilo.c (line:535) 'ioctl (devfd, BIODASDRWTB(), &blk)' returned
25='Inappropriate ioctl for device'

The first few lines looked quite ok, but then the zilo seems to have a
problem.

Ideas?
