Cool. SO as channels come on and off I will survive it.

James,

Usually such an µCode update is reported to the OS
as a 'long busy' condition. Linux 2.2.16 as of Jan 2000
and all Linux 2.4 Kernels can handle such a condition properly.

Best Regards

IBM is going to apply some microcode changes to our shark dasd box in order
to support the larger capacity drives. This is, I am told, going to make
disk channels go away and come back.

Is linux capable of surviving that process or am I going to get mangled?
