Yes, indeed the Suse 2.4.7 from the CDs has mod 9 problems. We didn't install
onto a mod 9, but it caused various hangs when we tried to run dasdfmt on them.
This seemed to happen even when the minidisk was a mod 3 sized chunk of a mod 9.
Basically, it was not fun.
We were able to get fixes from SuSE, but had to activate our support key first
to get help.

The Web site that had the fix info is at
http://sdb.suse.de/en/psdb/html/8152e93d07ceccd026588a64d988a0f1.html
but you need a support key to get to it.

If I recall, there were three RPM's. One for the default kernel, one for the
install system and new kernel sources.

Anyone know how the GPL really works? If I needed a support key to get fixes
from SuSE, can I send those fixes on to others? Or do I lose my job shortly
after doing something like that?
