I don't think there's any debate about Linux and Linux/390 being a cash cow for IBM. It is, hands down, which is a good thing for IBM, and hopefully as a result, the Linux community. The more money people make off Linux, the more likely they'll be contributing to the community. Certainly not a guarantee, but the chances are better than if everyone was losing money.
