We found a few quirks when I tried to write a bash program that does for Linux what VMLINK does on CMS and we ended up programming around the restrictions (e.g. reuse virtual addresses after detach so that you don't waste minor numbers). I understand the dynamic interface is not meant to be robust and production quality but I believe this is important on VM. Isn't importance of a feature something relative? I'm not aware of an open discussion about Linux on zSeries development or a request to prioritize line items. Rob
