Hi

Here at Xephon, we are thinking of launching a technical journal on Linux
on the S/390.

We're not sure it's viable, though, so I'd like to ask list members for
their advice on the subject.

The journal would cover topics related to both the mainframe and to Linux -
I'm sure no one needs another general Linux Journal or another general
mainframe journal.

My question is: are there enough technical problems at the Linux/mainframe
interface to warrant a monthly 40-page journal, in the following areas:

- implementation

- administration

- technical support

- user modifications/extensions.

We might also cover application development as well, though we currently
expect our main audience to be systems programmers.

It would also be very helpful if you could mention the subject areas within
each of these categories that might yield the most useful material
(quantitatively and qualitatively).

We hope list members might consider contributing articles, too. As with our
other mainframe-oriented publications (MVS Update, CICS Update, etc), we
expect to pay contributors (you can see our "Notes for Contributors", which
cover such matters, here: http://www.xephon.com/nfc).

Best wishes

Chris Bunyan
