In addition, do a "tcpdump" on the interface.

I have a VM running RH 7.2 with kernel 2.4.19 ( with the three may2002
patches applied) and my problem is this:
Certain processes, seeming mostly to do with nfs/automount/nis hang. top
says they're waiting in function "down", "end", or, when zipl hung,
"__wait_for_inode". They are also listed in top as D(ormant) and the load
average is increased to (number of hung processes) + (real workload).
Has anyone had this happen before? and even better, know any solutions?
Thanks in advance,
