Hi all, i have installed Redhat 7.2 as a vm guest, it comes with kernel
2.4.9, so i've downloaded the following:
binutils-2.12.90.0.15
gcc-3.2
glibc-2.2.5
modutils-2.4.7
linux-2.4.19

and the following patches:
binutils-2.12.90.0.15-s390-may2002.tar.gz
glibc-2.2.5-s390-1-may2002.tar.gz
glibc-2.2.5-s390-2-may2002.tar.gz
glibc-2.2.5-s390-3-may2002.tar.gz
glibc-2.2.5-s390-may2002.tar.gz
linux-2.4.19-s390-1-may2002.tar.gz
linux-2.4.19-s390-2-may2002.tar.gz
linux-2.4.19-s390-3-may2002.tar.gz
linux-2.4.19-s390-kerntypes-may2002.tar.gz
linux-2.4.19-s390-may2002.tar.gz
linux-2.4.19-timer-1-may2002.tar.gz

I've followed the instructions from ibm at
http://www10.software.ibm.com/developerworks/opensource/linux390/index.shtml,
the HOWTO "How to set up a cross build environment? " to install this
packages, everything is ok, but after finishing it i get this:

# gcc -v
Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/s390-redhat-linux/2.95.3/specs
gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (release)

so i dont know what does i've done, because i dont see the new versions,
i've too the following rpm's installed:

# rpm -q binutils gcc glibc modutils
binutils-2.11.90.0.27-0.05
gcc-2.95.3-0.72
glibc-2.2.4-24.2
modutils-2.4.13-0.7.1

what i did wrong?

i really dont understand.

thanks
