We are currently doing a trial of FCON/ESA. Not having experience with other VM performance tools, I still like what i see.
when using more than one dasd volume in a volume group, make sure they are striped. (ie if there are five 3390-9's in a vg, when adding logical volumes, make a stripe size of five) here are some of our settings. use at your own risk. this is on a 2gig guest. we are still playing with these. sga_max_size=912m db_block_size=16384 disk_asynch_io = false (note: sles7 does not support asynch io. my understanding is that oracle supports the asynchronous io in sles8 -- when it passes the cert tests) dbwr_io_slaves = 4 (this is to make up for the lack of asynch io) read the supplemental release notes that come with the linux/390 installation. -----Original Message----- From: John Summerfield [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, March 20, 2003 10:16 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Oracle 9.2 on Suse 7.2 S390 On Thu, 20 Mar 2003, Nilson Vieira wrote: > What do i to get a better performance ?
