Has anyone any thoughts (sensible or otherwise) about keeping a penguin
colony up to date with it's software?

We have a SuSE base system from which we cut all new systems. I try to keep
the base system up to date. The problems come when

a) we have to roll out a fix to all our systems. I don't want to log on to
all of them in turn.
b) we want to install a new piece of software that is not on the base system
and the version on the delivery CD images may (or may not) have been
superseded with new maintenance.

Regards

        Phil
