Speaking for myself, so please ignore my e-mail's origins, I've found the material discussed at http://www.groklaw.net/ interesting enough to check on a regular basis.
Mind you, there are times when I wonder if I'm reading either "Blue Monday" or "The Onion" when I see it in the regular news. Now... lemme see... there are times I think I should've tried stand-up (considering that Jeff Foxworthy got his start in IBM here in Tampa) and, really, many of the peripheral comments have been, well, amusing. I really can't add much to it. Kenny will reassure you that my humor is far too specialized so you'll never see me on The Tonight Show. Bill Gates to Darl McBride: "You are the MS-DOS of evil: only 640K, not evil enough!" -soup Another line of mine: "If you think that the best reason to have a swimming pool in your back yard is to lower your fire insurance rates... you just might belong in the IT industry" (or be an IBMer). -------------------- John R. Enlarging the scope of its lawsuit against IBM (NYSE: IBM - news), SCO Group has filed court documents that challenge the validity of the GPL (GNU General Public License), the software license that governs Linux (news - web sites). If SCO were to successfully invalidate the GPL -- which has never been legally challenged -- it could have an enormous impact on Linux's future. "The GPL violates the U.S. Constitution, together with copyright, antitrust and export control laws," states SCO in documents filed with the U.S. District Court for Utah. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nf/20031029/bs_nf/22583 Dave Jones Sine Nomine Associates Houston
