The k_timer-2.4.7-9 rpm is from May 21, 2002. I can see that it does not have the functions which your modprobe complains about, these are needed to support a separate tape3590 module and it appears that tape3590 did no appear before 2003-02-20. I think the only solution is to run a newer kernel, you should anyway, because of a security issue which became known this summer. Bernhard > linsvg:( ?
