Why would you want to use FS labels? Just make your DCSS have talkative names....!
I believe I would also be reluctant to have everyone look into the segments to see whether they like it. But there would be room for some additional mapping layer (so that you can do some managed implementation and backout withou affecting each of the Linux servers with the administrative burden of changing the name). IBM internal systems have some modificiations to do that, and I would welcome to see that function in the real product.
