If the "lvm pieces" you're looking for are how to create a logical volume,
then look at SG24-6264, the Distributions Redbook.  We have an entire
chapter devoted to that.  If that's not what you're looking for, you're
going to have to expound a little further.

And yes, I've not heard anyone come back with a problem on the procedure
recently.

Can someone share the steps involved to split out   "/usr"  into a new lvm
filesystem??

I see a documented procedure at

but it does not have the lvm pieces...

Also ..is that documented procedure accurate?
