Okay, I NFS mounted an HFS directory with:

mount -t nfs -o rsize=57000,wsize=57000 tech:/hfs/u/tsslll /mnt

Copied the linux 2.6.5 kernel tarball over 3 times with:

time cp /usr/src/linux-2.6.5.tar.gz  .

Took the average and it wound up being ~3.82KB/s
